Growth~Success~Change

Hello INFERNO Family!

I hope you have all enjoyed your summer! It has been a hot one! I have had the opportunity to see some of you at summer volleyball camps, sand volleyball, CYC tryouts, private sessions and Club INFERNO clinics and you are all working very hard on improving your volleyball skills. My family and I are getting ready for our summer vacation trip and by the time we get back, it will be time for school, CYC, and then club ball will be right around the corner!

As you all know, I eat, sleep and breathe volleyball! I love to watch the pros, play adult power 4s, and cheer on my favorite college teams. But most of all, I love sharing my knowledge, skills and love of volleyball with kids. I created Club INFERNO Volleyball for my daughter, and to give other kids the opportunity to learn volleyball and develop the internal fire (INFERNO) that makes a good player a great one.

On the back of one of our t-shirts, it says, “Don’t know the name? You will!” Club INFERNO Volleyball, in 2 years, has made quite a name for itself. Due to the hard work and dedication of its Directors (Michele and Jennifer and myself), coaches (Kailyn, Linda, Rob, Shawn, Lori, Michele, Jennifer, Jill, Jackie and myself), new coaches Cristin, Kate, players and parents, Club INFERNO has become a force to be reckoned with. We have had our struggles and growing pains both on and off the court, but no one can deny the swagger and excellent reputation our club has developed.

Our goal was to share our charisma with as many young volleyball players as possible. We have tried hard to do that by coaching at the CYC/Parochial level, developing Club INFERNO Volleyball where we have quickly added teams and coaches, attending as many INFERNO practices and tournaments as possible, holding preseason and summer clinics, and providing core clinics and private lessons upon request.

In order for us to interact with as many girls as possible and provide the highest level of volleyball available, we have made the decision to join Club INFERNO with Rockwood Thunder. They have been growing in the Gateway Region for 12 years, and have made themselves one of the top clubs in the St. Louis area, and had 9 teams participate in Nationals this past year. Many of the Rockwood teams saw success both Regionally and Nationally last year! Rockwood is striving to provide the highest level of coaching and experience to as many players as possible at differing skill levels while making a name for themselves and their players at a National level.

Rockwood Thunder offers everything Club INFERNO offered and more. Rockwood has numerous practice facilities as well as many excellent coaches with college training and experience. They offer summer camps, private lessons, and a Physical (plyo)  & Positional Training (cores) throughout the season. Rockwood offers competitive dues, optional uniform extras, gear, fundraising, a comprehensive and informative website and community service opportunities.

As part of the merge many coaches from INFERNO will be joining the Rockwood staff, and able to add additional teams at each age group provided by INFERNO. At Rockwood Thunder, I will coach the Girls 16 White team and assistant coach a 14s team, but will also be very active in open gyms, the tryout process, Positional Training clinics, summer camps and private lessons. My involvement in all these areas will give me access to as many players as possible, and those players access to me.

Although change can sometimes cause anxiety, I know that this will be an awesome opportunity not only for Club INFERNO but for Rockwood Thunder as well. We will continue to Play Hard, Stay Focused and Have Fun under the new banner of THE ROCK!

We want to thank each and every one of you for the support and assistance you have given us, and Club INFERNO, and we look forward to seeing you at the Rockwood Thunder tryouts in October/November!
