Coach Rob developed his love of volleyball during and after college while playing in numerous men’s and co-ed recreational leagues, and has developed this love over the past 5 years as an assistant coach for his daughters’ CYC volleyball team. He is not an exceptional athlete himself, but he is a student and teacher of the game.
Coach Rob has the ideal mix of intensity and encouragement, motivation and instruction that adolescents respond to and that helps them excel. Rob’s coaching philosophy is the same philosophy that he uses while teaching 8th graders in the classroom. That philosophy is to push each athlete to meet and exceed what they believe are their capabilities, while fostering a team spirit that encourages cooperation and a positive attitude. Development of individual skills within the framework of the team concept is the goal for which he strives.
